GE Jenbacher Gas Engines
Innovative solutions for decentralised energy supply
The gas engine division of GE Power & Water ranks among the world’s leading manufacturers of gas engines, containerised generator sets and cogeneration units for energy supply. One of only few producers in this field, the company specialises exclusively in gas engine technology.
Manufactured in the Austrian town of Jenbach, the engines range in power from 0.25 MW to 9.5 MW and can run on either natural gas or a wide variety of biogas and special gas fuels sourced from agriculture, mining, industry or waste management.
Numerous commercial, industrial and municipal customers use innovative solutions featuring Jenbacher products for decentralised energy supply. Here, gas is converted into power, heat and/or cooling dependent upon the customer’s requirements. A comprehensive range of services is also offered.
Patented combustion systems coupled with fully developed engine controls and system monitoring not only ensure compliance with binding emissions regulations, but also allow peak levels of profitability, durability and reliability.
The headquarters and production centre of GE’s gas engine division are located in the Tyrolean town of Jenbach, and around 1,400 of the division’s 1,800 employees worldwide work at the site.
GE’s Jenbacher gas engines have been available in Germany for over 40 years. The local branch, which employs a servicing team of over 60 engineers, has been located in Frankenthal for 20 of them. There are also six local service offices providing customised lifecycle service support throughout Germany. Jenbacher gas engines from GE are well-established in Germany, with approximately 1,600 engines installed across the entire country.
