Quality “Made in Germany”: EnviTec Biogas AG leads the European market in biogas plant construction
An increasing number of politicians around the world are coming to recognise the advantages of biogas as a renewable, decentralised energy source, and are creating an attractive environment for plant operators and investors as a result. EnviTec Biogas began expanding at an early stage, and is now active in 15 countries across Europe with operations in India. Olaf von Lehmden, chairman of the board of EnviTec Biogas AG, believes that “biogas remains a growth industry with enormous untapped potential.”
The company provides services covering the entire value chain of biogas production, including the planning, turnkey construction and commissioning of biogas plants as well as biological and technical services. In addition, qualified EnviTec employees will provide full plant management at the client’s request. Further to the provision of services, the company, which was established in 2002, successfully operates its own biogas plants. Amounting to approximately 120 million euros, this facet of the business made a significant contribution to total turnover in 2009.
Besides farmers who wish to exploit a calculable source of income, EnviTec’s customer base also comprises industrial groups. In one project in 2009, the company supplied essential components for the world’s largest plant for processing biogas to natural gas quality in Güstrow, East Germany. And in Great Britain, EnviTec is currently constructing a biogas facility for a food factory which will enable the customer to generate heat and power using its production waste.
In addition to the company’s wide-ranging experience and the comprehensive support it provides, the technological development pursued by EnviTec is that which is most valued by operators of its biogas plants.
