WELTEC BIOPOWER GmbH was founded in 2001 and is a leading international provider of biogas plants. The modern approach of its experienced engineers enables the company, which has more than 70 employees and is based in Vechta, Lower Saxonia, to supply complete biogas plants from a single source.
The strength of the medium-sized company lies in its individually tailored solutions – ranging from compact systems, computer-aided, high-output plants in the megawatt range and waste treatment plants to biogas parks with remote maintenance systems, gas processing and control system technology.
The plants are of modular design and only tried and tested system components are used. A majority of the technologies employed along the value-added chain are developed within the company. These technologies include fermenter engineering, mixing technology, control system technology, sanitation systems and solutions for processing fermentation residue.
WELTEC fermenters are made of stainless steel, as the hydrogen sulphide and ammonia contained in the biogas attack unprotected components. This guarantees the long service life of the entire system. The high degree of in-house production ensures globally uniform high quality and a noticeably higher export ratio than the industry average.
Over the years, WELTEC’s high quality has gained worldwide recognition. In 2009, a Chinese investor commissioned WELTEC to set up a biogas plant which, with an output of 370 kWel, is China’s first biogas plant to meet German quality standards.
In 2008, WELTEC BIOPOWER GmbH was one of the first providers of complete biogas plants to be awarded DIN EN ISO 14001:2004 and DIN EN ISO 9001:2001 (quality management standard) certification by the technical inspection association (TÜV) of Rhineland-Palatinate.
